RealWorld Point of Sale is a retail front-end program that interfaces
with RealWorld Expertise 5.5 (or later). Point of Sale (POS) allows comprehensive
processing, tracking and control of transactions generated at the point of order or sale.
This touch screen Point of Sale program monitors your sales activities at the cash
register and tracks critical information such as inventory items in stock and hot-selling
products. You can reconcile key sales information at the beginning and end of each day or
poll the data at any time. All this gives you the flexibility you need to increase sales
and maintain optimum inventory levels. Point of Sale also provides a log that shows the
operator, date and amount of every transaction. Sensitive information can be easily
protected.
The program supports high-speed Point of Sale hardware including printers, pole-mounted
customer displays, bar code readers (serial or wedge), credit card readers and cash
drawers.
The user can do the following with RealWorld Point of Sale:
- Immediately access customer database and maintain up-to-date information
about each customer.
- Add new customers during the sales process. This allows the use of
frequent purchasing programs and direct mailing for promotions based on the
customer’s purchasing history.
- Track and record all sale and cash transactions.
- Create a "paper" trail for invoice-level tracking of sales.
- Control type of payments allowed at the point of sale.
- Track suspicious transactions to help reduce employee theft and
defalcation.
- Utilize Expertise models and contract pricing.

- Sell assembled kits, which automatically relieve inventory of component
items.
- Customize an assembled kit for customers at the register (perfect for
customized computer manufacturers).
- Record and track layaway orders and payments.
- Track the source of a sale in the form of catalog key codes.
RealWorld POS provides the following:
- Supports balance forward and open item customer types for Expertise
Accounting. Credit limits for customers are checked against the current balance and
un-posted orders/invoices.
- Customizes, enhances and manages Receipts, Invoices, and Reports by
utilizing industry-standard Seagate Crystal Reports®.
- Provides up to 9,999 line items on one sales invoice.
- Tax and pricing functionality available from Expertise Accounting.
- Unlimited Ship-To (Deliver-To) addresses are available for each customer.
- Unlimited payment types are user-configured with available minimums for
use during payment processing.
- Unlimited levels of touch-screen buttons for easy product identification.
- Item searches by product code or description.
- Many-to-one barcode to item code cross-reference.
- Customers and ship-to addresses can be added on the fly.

- Invoice voids automatically reverse inventory and cash transactions.
- Gift certificates managed to the certificate number. Gift certificate
sales and redemption automatically communicated between stores in a multistore
