Included are compatible hardware
recommendations.
Overview:
This document contains hardware recommendations for
client/server installations of Great Plains Standard 7.5 on
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine. The recommendations
should be used as a reference in determining hardware needs
for each individual configuration. Users may need to increase
or decrease these recommendations due to environmental factors
to achieve individual performance expectations.

Database Overview:
 | MSDE 2000 is 100% compatible with Microsoft SQL Server.

 | Great Plains Standard has a 2GB limit per database (This
includes the .MDF and .LDF.) with MSDE 2000. |
 | There is a 10 concurrent user limit with Great Plains
Standard on MSDE 2000.

 | Built-in scaling factors of MSDE 2000 limit the
performance based on connections and data loads.

 | Great Plains Standard on Microsoft SQL Server is only
supported on Small Business Server 2003 Premium Edition. |

Additional Notes:
1. *The Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition is
only supported on a client connected to the Local Area
Network. The wireless components of Microsoft Windows XP
Tablet PC Edition are not supported or recommended.
2. **Microsoft Business Solutions will support Great
Plains Standard 7.5 on Windows Server 2003 with MSDE 2000
Service Pack 3a or later.
3. Office 2000 and Office XP have been tested and are
supported with Great Plains Standard 7.5.
4. Intel Pentium processors are the only type of processor
that is tested. The compatibility is based on the speed
of the processor not the type of processor.
5. If running Great Plains Standard 7.5 on a
single-user stand alone machine, use the Recommended Server
Requirements.
6. Great Plains Standard on Microsoft SQL Server is
only supported on Small Business Server 2003 Premium Edition.
7. Small Business Server 2003 must be at the root of
the Active Directory domain.
